Where is Amish Country?

Where exactly is "Dutch" country?  The most well known area is Lancaster Country, Pennslyvania. However, there are Amish and Mennonites* living in many more areas than just that. Holmes County, Ohio is probably known second best, however there are more Amish and Mennonites living in Ohio than any other state in the US.

Indiana, New York, Michigan, Illinois and Florida all have significant "Dutch" communities.  Many of the products featured on DutchMarketUSA.com come from Ohio and Pennslyvania, although since shipping is available for most items it doesn't really matter which state they come from.

If you happen to be visiting Lancaster, Pa, we highly recommend you visit this unique Amish roadside stand, Roadside Country Stand. Click here to see their business listing.

*By using the term "Mennonite" we are referring to the "plain" mennonites who would maintain a conservative lifestyle. There are many types of Mennonites. For example, type "Mennonite Church USA" into Google.
